I had the most amazing time planning and throwing this party!!! And like any parent my focus was to achieve more visual appeal with little effort! I simply hate the stress and how the moments which are actually meant for you and your little one are lost in cakes and cookies and cake pops!

I am not willing to pay that price! But I am not looking to question or sacrifice the aesthetics! So I was left with the hardest task of all. To find the fine balance!!!!

On the dessert table my favorite was the cupcakes adorned with cutest 2 min flag I glued to the stick and plop there you go!

These chalkboard cuties are a must for all my dessert tables! I looove the fun they add to it!

And whats a cars party without some repair!!!! 😀 I set up this cute donut repair station!! Not that they needed any! So kids went creative and some did cupcakes and some just helped themselves to the repairing stuff!! 😀

hey no rules!

Here is how I did it:

5 Ingredient Dessert table

  1. The Cake: I opted for a 3D cake! I saved some bucks and did it myself!! You can either go for a custom cake or simple butter frosting cake with some cute cake toppers!! If you are going for a simpler less demanding cake you need to set them on the pedastel so they shine! a.k.a the cake stand!

  2. The Cupcakes: Evvvvvery dessert table needs cupcakes!! Coz evvvvvvvveryone loves the!! So some eaaasy chocolate frosting and some easy cupcakes recipe! If you want to take the simpler road just use the same batter for your cake, and if you are not baking the cake you can buy some packadged ones and dress them up in your frosting!!

  3. The decor:I set up a Decorating table!!! Kids aaaddddddore decorating their cupcakes!!! They looooooove the decorating! So i just popped in some mnms some sprinkles and donuts!!! To decorate!!!

  4. The star: Add some fun! The star of this table was this Nutella Freak Shakes!!! Eveery one just grabbbbbbed them!! As soon as they could and they were a suuuper hit!!!

  5. The munchies: Pre packaged cookies for munching!!!How awesome is that!! And oreos fit right into my theme!!! Who can say no to them!?

So there you go! 5 ingredient dessert table!

I have to say it was a gorgeous evening!!!! With family and food and games and fun and looooots of laughter! Exactly how  a party should be!! :):) Minus all the stress!! 😀

How to take sharp Action photos from Nikon

WHAT YOU NEED!

1.I am assuming you have:

a good SLR. This tutorial is for Nikon SLR, D3200 specifically, coz that is what I am using. And it has given me best results and is excellent for beginners simply because it worked out well for me.

2. Preferably

A Good lens. We need a good lens for low aperture speed. i use 70-40 mm but any good lens will work of course.

3.The coolest ingredient

Lots of sunlight.

I have learnt it the hard way sunlight is the reason behind brilliant pictures. While in this case we need it for the shutter speed, but mostly sunny day OR LOTS OF NATURAL LIGHT is a must for other pics as well.

SETTINGS

1. PUT THE CAMERA IN SHUTTER PRIORITY SETTING

camera5

Turn the dial on top to S

Shutter priority mode means that we can adjust the shutter speed manually and camera takes care of the rest of the stuff. Shutter speed is how fast the camera SHUTTER CLOSES.

Shutter Priority mode means we’ll be setting the shutter speed manually while the camera takes care of the rest of the settings. Shutter speed is how fast the camera records a picture. A very fast shutter speed will freeze action, just what we need. A very slow shutter speed causes blurry images (which can be a cool effect if you want to capture motion like running water in waterfalls or cool night light like .

car light trails) but requires a tripod. Today we want to stop action, so we’ll tell the camera to use a very fast shutter speed.

2. Set the shutter speed to 1/1000

In addition to the labeled dial, you’ll see an unlabeled black dial on your camera. Use this dial change the shutter speed. Crank it left for lower and slower, right for higher and faster. The higher the number, the faster the shutter speed! Set the dial to change the shutter speed to 1/1000. It may also just say 1000. That is a very fast shutter speed. This means the photo that the camera captures will show what was happening in that one one-thousandth of a second. That’s pretty fast!

3. Change the AF-C and High speed continous

The next two changes that you need to make can be easily done through the little ‘i’ button at the bottom end of the left side of the camera. By pressing this button all the variables you can see in black bricks on your screen like ISO can be monitored.

4. Change the AF-C

Change Af-A to AF-C. You can do this by simply pressing the little “i” button at the bottom of the camera. This is the mode which tracks the subjects movement and can predict before it makes it. Yes it sounds freaky to me too but it actually works. Now you know how intelligent you SLR actually is and how you can manipulate it. 😀

4.Set the shooting mode to continous

In continuous shooting mode, you can press the shutter button and hold it down to take several photos in a row without lifting your finger. Coz in this mode the speed at which the camera takes the pictures is much faster, so continous mode makes it easier to keep up with the action and shutter speed.

5. The focus point

The focus point tells the camera where to focus.

  • Auto Select in my opinio is best for photos with one subject (by themselves) in the frame, because we are capturing action and the subject is moving its harder to find perfect  focus with every shot. So just let the camera do this part.

so wrap up: This is how we want our screens to look like when our kids are all geared up for action.

camera 1

  1. put the camera in Shutter Priority ( S) mode
  2. Set the shutter speed to 1/1000
  3. Change the focus mode to AF-C
  4. Change the shooting mode to Continuous
  5. Find your focus point.

Enjoy photography!!!
